Our research investigates ways to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the transport system by introducing new communication methods and technologies that connects all transport elements (travellers, vehicles, signal controls, bridges, roads, ramps and system operators).

Vehicle Safety Communication
Expanding advanced wireless communication protocols and positioning techniques for vehicles, which will allow cars to reliably exchange their precise position and kinematic data in real-time and avoid road accidents.

Traffic Signal and Intersection Control
Finding ways to improve traffic flow during peak hours through advanced intersection control, including wireless communication in traffic signal systems and optimisation of signal timing plans.

Driverless Vehicles
Developing engineering tools and mathematical models that account for human and transport network interaction with driverless vehicles to achieve safer more efficient system performance.
